January 4th, 2021 - Day of the Water Rat

How nice, Monday is the first day of the work week, and the Rat is the first sign in the Chinese Zodiac. This makes for a perfect match to get the week off to a good start. The Chinese Almanac agrees, calling this an “Establish” day.

Today's ruling element is Water. We can probably get our best results today by drawing on its energy. It's free flowing and relentless. That favors activities such as writing, speaking, networking, creating, working around obstacles, and travel, especially just going here and there.

January 5th, 2021 - Day of the Water Ox

 This is the day we've all been waiting for! What? OK, you probably didn't see that coming. The thing is today is an Ox day in a Rat month in a Rat year. In Chinese Astrology Rat and Ox are soulmate signs. Some of us are going to experience what could be a significant, learning experience today. 

And, if your sign is Ox, it could even be life changing! Fortunately we have two, good clues to figure out what it might entail. First, we all just celebrated New Year's. And, some of us have made some resolutions, that is, what we would like to accomplish in 2021. Today is a perfect day to make one if you haven't. And, if you have, it's a great time to think about how you are going to accomplish or even revise it if you've thought of something better. Secondly, the Tong Shu sheds some light on the subject. Although it's an Establish day, it is not necessarily auspicious for everything.

Romance, unfortunately, is one of those recommended to avoid.. We might put this together with what we looked at first. How do our New Year's resolutions tie in with our love lives? What can we do right now, today, to enjoy a happier life with our partner. And, if we're still looking, what plans can we establish now to make something good happen this year? It may be an inauspicious day to start a new relationship but not in planning a new course of action. In fact that is a very Rat thing to do. The month energy is with us in that area of life. January 6th, 2021 - Day of the Wood Tiger

It's important to remember the Tiger is a big cat. Should be no surprise its energy does not go well with this month's Rat's. The cat and Rat find it easy to get into petty arguments. It's not surprising, then, the Chinese Almanac puts out an avoid alert today when it comes to romance. Maybe the best thing we can do today is tread lightly to avoid damaging any of our relationships. By the way, air travel is also identified as another activity to avoid today. 

Tong Shu: The energies of a Remove Day are best used to end something or remove the unwanted.

January 7th, 2021 - Day of the Wood Rabbit

Did you have a relationship problem yesterday? Or even one that's been around a while. Today might be a good day to kiss and make up. The Rabbit is the ultimate peacemaker. Financial activity is suitable today according to the Tong Shu. If you need to negotiate a contract or just sign one, this is an appropriate day to go for it. 

Tong Shu: This is a day of Abundance. It is used to support activities and endevours where more is ideal.

January 8th, 2021 - Fire Dragon

This month's Earth Rat is a perfect match for today's Dragon sign. By the way The Five Element Constructive Cycle is one of the most important things to consider when deciding how to determine Luck. Looking at it I see Fire is the most favorable element for Earth. Moreover, when we apply Fire to Earth we get Metal, and that means money. Do you have a money matter that needs attention? Why not get to it today?

January 9th, 2021 - Day of the Fire Snake

A powerful sign, perhaps the one most closely associated with intense mental activity. That's only intensified by the month's energy. If Tuesday (a soulmate day) you didn't get your New Year's resolution expressed exactly the way you'd like it, here's a great time to do it. In fact you probably want to give priority to brain work all day. That’s what the Snake (day-Rat (lunar month) combination does best. By the way, we're only four days away from the start of the lunar month of the Ox!

As crazy as 2020 was, this month could be the most significant of the year! As I said Tuesday on an Ox day, that sign is the Chinese Astrology soulmate of the Rat, and even though we celebrated New Years on January 1, we are still in the lunar year of the Rat!

So, another Snake-favored activity today is to be thinking about how best to take advantage of the final month of the lunar year. Is there some big project you need to finish? Something left undone but is begging for your attention. Think deeply; it's the Snake way.

January 10th, 2021 - Earth Horse

Today's energy is in conflict with the Rat's month energy. In fact the lunar month is coming to an end in three days. And, a sign's energy tends to be most powerful towards the end of its reign. This can be confusing as the almanac calls this an auspicious day. What can I say? Sometimes the signs and the stars simply don’t line up. Life is complicated. What to do? It’s probably ok to consider this an auspicious day for beginning something new, with two exceptions: 1) Not if you’re a Horse or Rat sign person, and 2) Not if it involves travel or moving.  

Tong Shu: It is simply a good day to start or commence something. The energies of the Initiate Day promotes a smooth beginning.
